Quick Question with audio...

There is a cable that often goes from the cd drive to the sound card. Do you need that inorder to listen to get your music from a cd out to speakers, or is that cable just so you can plug your headphones into the front of the cd drive and listen...

That is the cable that connects the analog audio out of the CD drive to the sound card. Without it, you would not be able to listen to an audio CD through your speakers but your headphones would still work.

If you use a CD with MP3's, I believe that the analog cable would not be nescessary as that would be digital information transferred across your system bus.
