Wtf annoyin noise from via aqua

i have had my water setup for a little under a week now. in the beginning the via aqua 1300 had a little hum to it and that is all. now it is a annoying loud crackling sound that comes from it.

the water IS being pumped, and i can run my computer from it and everything, but it is annoying as hell!!!!! what is wrong with the pump?

It has a mod that makes via 1300 completely silence.

In addition, you may want to put some foam rubber or sponge like on the base of the pump to reduce the vibration noise.

i saw that but doin that would require i empty out my setup which would stink

i have rubber under it. it is the pump itself that is making the noise not the vibration

any other ideas?

edit: i just downloaded the before mp3 and mine sounds NOTHING like that. it used o sound like that. now it is A LOT WORSE!

My suggestion: take it back or take it apart. Obviously you WILL have to take it out of your system. My guess is that somehow something such as sand got in the pump and is not flowing through the pump.

yup, sry dude, but it has to be taken apart, theres nothing else to do about it. do the mod that elusion linked you to and it will quiet down a lot

Are you sure that its not just the noise of air cavitating against the impeller? try turning the pump upside down and different directions and see if some air bubbles come flyin' out. :)

that may be it possibbly air bubbles is it the crackling sound like when u turn a pump n without water?

trust me here guys~ i told iron hawk how to do that guide and it is the impeller rotating on a 1/2 turn spindle for when debries go threw it for like in fishtanks~ when using for wc'ing ~ there should be NO debris and the mod makes it silent because the shaft is locked and it wont vibrate anymore!~

yup yup yup. its a good safety feature for fish tanks for sure, but mighty annoying for watercooling...

ooh i fixed and now it is back to its only semi annoying self. i hit it real real hard and then it stopped lol

that works for a short time i was doing it to mine, did the super glue mod and it shut it right up, cant here it at all anymore
