Totally agree. AX-478 is o-so-nice. All the other choices that match its performance cost substantially more.

The only other heatsink I would consider would be a SLK-800 Thermalright, which requires an adaptor to mount to a P4. There is a replacement retention mechanism for the standard plastic one mounted to the motherboard that allow Socket A/370 designs to be mounted to the P4. But the SLK-800 costs a bit more, plus the adaptor cost. In the end there really is only one $25 heatsink that is better than the OEM Intel one... the AX-478.

Dragon orb 478 is nice. $23 at newegg. On high it keeps me at around 38 idle, 44 or so load. Of, course, to get a feel for the fan on high, plug in a hairdryer, and set it on top of your case:D:D. I usually keep it on the low setting, which gets me 40 idle 50 load.

Heh, you've obviously not used an AX-478 :)
