i accidentally stepped on the off switch of my surge protector... when i booted up again, the Windows XP screen shows up and then after that it hangs up on a blank screen... it won't even go into safe mode... i had the FSB at 150 and i changed it back to 133 but it still doesn't work... anyone have an idea what's wrong...?

Don't know how much of a help I can be but...
During the last few months I've had WinXP wig out on me bad enough that I needed to boot from the WinXP cd and repair my installation of windows (which is an option I would be careful of.. I didn't lose data but it did partially reinstall windows). There is also a recovery console thingy where you can do basic DOS commands within the Windows tree only. Getting into this and trying to read the bootlog text file might be a way to verify the sudden power off didn't damage your drive....cross your fingers
PS-Both times I had to do this my windows wouldn't do safe mode either....

i couldn't do the repair... it was asking for a recovery floppy which i don't have... i just reinstalled a new copy of Windows over the existing copy... it goes into Windows so i'll just salvage my data and reformat...
