Took me an Hour and 10 minutes but I won

Shut off adsubtract and won within 5 minutes of shutting it off.

I'm kind of irked at the people trying to win more than one as that's not right.

I won after maybe 800-1000+ refreshed. I am also a little mad about the people winning multiple sets. Why can't people just accept the gift (that's what it was) and be happy w/o trying to ripoff logitech for more copies? They'll probably just sell them anyway.

I am not complaining about the product, It's mor or less my house. It's called RF hell. We run a lot of two way radios in here and it messes with things. I love logitech products, I use to do tech support for them, all I got was calls and probs but I still recommend then and buy there stuff. They are goog products, I have 5 kb/mice combos here, I set of their Xtrusion Speakers, 3 webcams, 4 joysticks, a couple game pads, and a few other things. I use to love my Discount through them.

I had 25+ windows open on my desktop:D going down the list and constantly refreshing. Two winners showed up after about 1hr 25 minutes. I wasn't going to waste one, so I got one for me and 1 for my dad. I hate to sound greedy but c'mon, how can you just turn one down when it says winner. Shame on me.:( Oh well, Merry Christmas Dad:D

I won one, once I won that one I stopped, why? Because I AM HONEST. I could have sat there for hours and won more I am sure, it was nice enough of Logitech to do this. The people that sat for hours and came up empty I feel for.

People that won 4 or 5 I can't say how I really feel due to this forums non tolerance for flaming.

BUT I can guarantee the people that won 4 or 5 I will make them jump through hurdles if they ever decide to use the Classifieds.

If these people are dishonest that gets my attention and my job is to curtail such individuals.

You think my views constitute Greed? Thats insane....My view is if you manipulated the situation knowing it's wrong it's criminal intent, at least the way I see it. And yes I'd like to see the people that manipulated the situation get nothing.

Perhaps some of the people that signed up for the 20% e-mail offer would get surprised and get the Keyboard free, if fault was found in thier attempt to manipulate the givaway.

You know Sam, I think people just get REALLY WEIRD when you start giving stuff away. Somehow it really brings out the worst in people. Funny how something that's inherently nice can do that, huh? There's a doctoral dissertation in there for some would-be sociologist, I bet.

People were still winning within at most 15 minutes of the end. And it was randomly selected. I don't think Logitech gave way all the 20k. Which means that people who won more than one most likely in no way affected your chances. True it's not honest. True it sucks balls that some people win 8 and others win none. But I doubt the two facts are related. He just spammed their site more effectively than others.

I got one for myself, one for my parents that were at work and couldn't do this but wanted to. 1 for my brother even though I never speak to him cause he's a jack a$$ but he's still my brother. 2 for friends at work that couldn't get off but I could and 3 for random people on the internet. I basically said, I won again so send me your info and I'll put it in. Had one email me saying they got the confirmation. The other 2 haven't and neither has my brother nor would I expect him to email me either.

Description of Problem: I have a question about the giveaway promotion for these items from logitech. On 12/20/02 there was a promotion to give out 20,000 keyboard&mouse combonations. I visit a bunch of websites and forums that were discussing this and how people were winning multiple times but were sending what they had won extra to other addresses. So if they won once they sent it to themselves and if they won again they sent it to a completely different person.

My question is, was this okay to do? After seeing that and reading the rules I saw that there was never a limit to the number of entries just a limit of one prize per household/address. Reason being is after I won once and read about this I decided to give it a go again thinking it would be a good gift for someone else if I had managed to win again. But, I rather at least get the one I did win the first time. I would appreciate a definitive answer on this issue.

Also the rules explicitidly state that one could retry as many times as they like. Just you get awarded ONE prize per address basically and that's what I got.

that pretty much sum's up my feelings, although it's not "right" it's not "wrong" either and there's nothing that can be done about it, other than to frown upon people who get one for their mom, dad, sisters, brothers, pets, aunts, uncles, grandparents, co-workers, casual freinds, and the bum on the street you pass on your way to work every day.

yes it is human nature for us to hoard things as we were hunter/gatherers at one time, sometimes we should restrain ourselves, and this time is a prime example. although people who "won" multiple times are entitled to their prizes i think you all should be frowned upon, as every time you "won" you made someone else a loser. Logitec offers a contest to attract new buyers for their products, how are they to do this if there were say 1,000 people who each took 20, that makes many thousands of angry people who are now directing their anger to Logitec, when they should direct their anger to those 1,000 people. Logitec get's flodded with hate e-mails and dosent gain any new customers, just angry ones. What's Logitec gonna do about it... simple no more contests.

so yes, i do stick to my words by calling people who got more than say 5 as the leeches of the system. Personally, if i was the Contest director, i would look at the Originating IP of all the winners and only send one to the 1st instance. 1 per household can also mean 1 per IP, after all it's their contest.

To describe it, keyboard and mouse, one receiver with mouse ps2, and keyboard usb, with a usb-to-ps2 converter, so In effect, you could only use one, but you can't donate the other. Pretty nice setup, special edition color, for free :) Also has media controls and customizable hotkeys for "shopping" etc. Cyber Deals is going to be my "shopping" as soon as I get around to customizing.

I stand corrected, I re-read the instructions, you need either both ps2 or just the single USB (USB doubles as the ps2 for the keyboard). I just installed the keyboard, I'm very impressed with it, completely responsive, keys are smooth and quiet. I guess this is something I've never understood. Why use up a usb port on your kb/mouse when there are PS2 ports available. Forgive my ingnorance, I've never had a computer with usb till recently and I'd like to know if there is an advantage to using the usb over the PS2 ports.

There really isn't, if your motherboard has both. However, computers are moving closer and closer to being legacy-free (e.g. Abit's AT7 and IT7 boards) and eventually boards will almost all have four or six USB ports on the back and no PS2 ports anymore.

It is optical. I got mine 2 days ago but missed the delivery man so I had to wait another day. The keyboard is really nice.. soft, and responsive and you can barely hear it when you type. The mouse however sux for gaming. It skips alot in fps games and is heavy because you have to put 2 AA batteries in it.

I just got mine today and I really like it a lot. The keyboard is very quiet and smooth. The mouse is good too. It isn't that heavy, especially when compared to the Logitch one with the built in battery (that thing weighs a ton). It stutters every now and then but it was just as good as my Microsoft mouse in Battlefield 1942 after I got used to it a bit.


1 Thing that bothered me was the iTouch. I accidentally pushed the play/pause button and it didn't go away. It just kept the text on the screen, so I had to manually shutdown iTouch in the Task manager.

I agree with the keyboard. There is almost no sound at all when typeing and the range is excelent for response time. The mouse is optical but as mentioned sux.

Just got mine and hooked it up, this is the first typing that i have done one it. It is very nice, especially the mouse. A big improvement over my old trackball, that thing always skipped around so much. The keyboard did seem to skipp some letters at first but i think its ok now. Well, Im just glad I finaly got it.

make sure the reciever is as far away from any electrical devices as possible. When I use to do Tech support that was one of the top problems. People would put the reciever right on top of the monitor or right below it.

well i live in west lafayette right now... that is about a 3 hour drive if you do back down to indy... i know it takes a while since there are no main roads like interstates... my friend erin says it takes about between 2 and 2 1/2 hours...

well I finally ended up with 3 of the 8 I won shipped total. One to myself, one for my parents, and one that I gave away to a random person on the net since I was able to win a few extra. Anyhow, that still leaves 5 unaccounted for right now and hopefully they'll all come in. Not complaining if they don't since truth be told, I did win a lot, even if I had only planned to keep 1 for myself. I also have to take back my comments about the mouse. While it was skipping, I decided to reload xp and NOT reload the logitech drivers for this combo. I was reading in places where the logitech drivers were not working all that well with the wireless mouses they have. I also moved the receiver as far away from any computing device as the cord will let me. I then went out and bought an awsome optical mouse pad and gel rest from bestbuy they had as an open item for $10 (normally $20). Since then, I haven't had any skipping problems at all. I think I might still want to pick up the mx700 wireless optical mouse though from all the good things I hear about that. But you can't beat this wireless combo for the price.

I can see why they didn't make 20,000 before the contest. They didnt know if there would be 20,000 winners. You have to remember these are not normal retail sets, these are special edition for this contest only. I bet they made some and waited for the final number to be made.

BTW Clientlogic just handles the techsupport on these things, all replacements were always sent from logitech themselves when I worked there. The Clientlogic office that handles logitech is located here in Las Vegas, they have no warehouse here, just tech support people.

Got mine today. Nice board as others have stated. I'm more then pleased to have this board after waiting only five weeks. I had expected 8 to 10 weeks. Also the 20% rebate that came with it will be put to use on a mx700. though they don't give you much time. Purchase must be made by 1-31-03. thats 1 week from today. I think I can swing it with my vacation check on the way.

well i dont know if any of you have looked, but i was already thinking of modding the mouse with a blue LED, took it apart and the 2 curcut boards are joined togeather, so getting to the LED dosent look like it's gonna happen :(

i do have one complaint on the keyboard tho... does anyone else find the keys a bit small/too close togeather......if not maybe i just have big hands ;)

finally got my duo yesterday. However, i think my mouse has become defective. when the mouse is idle for more than 1 minute, the LED light dies and the mouse stops working. I have to hit connect or reinstall battery to make it work again. It was working fine yesterday. I tried two new sets of batteries , no go. Tried on different pc, no go.

How is your mouse behaving?

Mine has been working fine. You may have gotten a bad one. Bummer. Call logitech and request a RMA. I'm sure they'll take care of it.

when in use the LED is on, but when not used the mouse goes into a power saving mode, where the LED dims by about half, if not used for a while then the led dims even more and blinks about 1ce per second, this is all to save battery power.

when u fist connect you mouse, and when comming out of the deep sleep make sure u are on a good surface, then move the mouse, it will blink initally then the light well be a dim solid, then try using the mouse.

Mine's still out of stock, so I guess some of us will be waiting for a while longer. I checked out the email and it says 6-8 weeks from Dec 20th, so I guess we'll probably have ours by Feb 14 (don't think she would like that as a Valentine's present)!

In Logitech's defense, do you think it's a small job to ship out 20,000 boxes? Ummmmmm no. They may very well have them in stock, but not "showing" as in stock so they don't get sold. It's an even bigger job if these things come in their own box, rather than in the retail box. Anyhow, they're free so don't complain too much. They even said 6-8 weeks, so those that got them earlier got gravy.
