View Full Version : Need some suggestion for a good LAN game or two.
I have been doing most of my gaming as of late on a LAN with a buddy or two. Now I am looking for another good game or two for LAN gaming. We have been shooting the crap out of things in Serious Sam and are now looking for some other good Co-Op games where you are on the same team in a joint effort. Preferably a game that doesn take all night to learn how to play I have already considered Diablo 2, Starcraft, Warcraft 2 and 3. What else is there? Suggestions will be greatly appreciated.:D .

as usual i'm going to reccomend Ghost Recon and Sum of all fears. they are pretty easy to pick up, nothing really advanced. the CO-OP is awsome with those games and single player is pretty good. i love the weapon slection in Ghost Recon, Sum of all fears didn't have as many guns though.
Quake 3 is always a good LAN game. :D

Just havent found it for the price that I am willing to pay yet. (Yes, I am a cheap SOB) lol, as if $20 isnt cheap enough already for such a fun game.

if you need a break from those shooters, Empire Earth over LAN is great fun, especially if you're better at it than all of your friends as I am... and although they're pretty dated now, any Age of Empires II or Age of Kings game is enough to keep my buddies and me entertained for awhile...

Unreal tournament both the new one and old one are great for LAN. I also reccomened Return to Castle Wolfenstein. When I had a small LAN party my friends and I were yelling across the house where they were headed and to look out. It was great.
NOLF2 has co op I believe. And the demo was fun.
Rogue Spear and Ghost Recon would be my fav two. I've thoroughly enjoyed the realism of the Tom Clancy series!

Well a good portion of those games I already have. The problem is talking my cheap ass buddies to buy the same games. I will work on it though, thanks for the suggestions and keep them coming, racing games would also be a good change of pace. Any suggestions on those?
Need For Speed 5 for a racing game
Sven Co-op for a co-op FPS game (it's a mod to HL/CS)
Counter-Strike/UT2003 for a team-based (or alternatively) FPS game
Diablo II for a co-op (or sometimes a deathmatch-esque) RPG of sorts
File sharing is god of LANs

Warcraft III demo
Friends can't complain about those prices.
IMO the 2 most fun LAN games are bf1942 and Shogo M.A.D (me wonders how many of you are wondering wtf Shogo is, hehe)

Also you should get NFS:HP2. It rocks online and would be awsome as a lan setup. Even my fiancee likes it! That says alot. She hates computer games.
my god h20link, the riot sucks, with the new anticheat the riot does no damage anyway :) i'm kinda surprised that you've heard of it though. the official site is www.shogo-mad.com but most people use www.planetshogo.com and www.shogomad.com is getting ready to open, for those of you who want to know what Shogo is :)
