hey people, I just got myself a new mobo (Gigabyte GA-7VA using the KT400 chipset), and I can run two settings stable so far. Those are the following...

1.67 GHZ @ 133 FSB ram @ cas 2-2-2 1cmd

OR

1.80 GHZ @ 144 FSB ram @ cas 2.5-3-3 2cmd

So what I wanted to know is which would be better for gaming? I ran a Sandra bench and I get the EXACT same memory bandwidth with both settings. 3DMark scores about 100 points less with the 144 FSB, but that could be related to the 1% variation in benching right? I thought that the faster timings would be better, but then I keep seeing all this "FSB = LIFE" stuff which got me thinking about which really IS better?

is the better oc.
why 3dmark went down dont make sence to me.if u wanna really test between the 2 use pcmark 2002 its at madonion.com also.madonion changed names but is same test.

130mhz and 11 fsb is truley faster on an overall pc test.they whole pc speeds up not just the memory bandwith.also if u think timings are really that important go buy some 2700c2 but i f u cant get 166fsb with a locked chip its a waste.

hehe just a little tease if u want ill lower my mhz to macth yours and ill run 200fsb with same video card as you.just for craps and giggles.you will be amazed what high fsb will do!

btw fsb=life!

ditto

if it only gave you a 5mhz increase i wouldn't do it but over 10mhz increase the FSB 'll be better.
