View Full Version : RDRAM Thrashes DDR?
There's an article at the Inq well here (http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=6871), with links to a couple of sites as well, claiming that RDRAM still holds the performance crown over DCDDR.
Interesting.

I think as long as its QDR and it holds Bandwidth over DDR it will always be better - but as for thrashing I dont think its obliterates it...DDR isnt that far behind

RDRAM is not a QDR technology, it's DDR. Second, there are inherent benefits in it's design that make it much better suited to comparably scale with the Pentium 4's FSB. There are a lot of good threads over at the Ace's Hardware forum about this.
Bandwidth for bandwidth, RDRAM will always be faster than DDR SDRAM.

I was under the impression RDRAM did 2 instructions on the rise and 2 instructions on the fall of the clock...probably been reading toms hardware...
