does anyoen know if amd offers a warranty of any kind on retail products? i searched amd.com with no luck.

I think the AMD warranty on RETAIL cpus is 3 years....or 1 year, not sure. But if the CPU is OEM, then there is no warranty at all unless you get one from the vendor.

btw, dont use the warranty unless your chip breaks under normal circumstances. If you OC it to death, buy another one.

the warranty is 3 years if you bought retail :) if your chip dies and you are under warranty you can get another one for free (assuming you did not modify the chip physically)

3 years on retail, 30 days on OEM...big difference there...but if ur overclocking, the warrenty doesnt matter since u void it anyways by overclocking, hehe

Yup, Retail processors carry a 3yr warranty from AMD.
For OEM, the warranty will depend on which vendor you buy from. Some give 30days, some give 15days. All depends on the vendor.
