I have a MSI GF4 TI4200 vid card that has it's stock fan on and no RAM heatsinks.
I've been able to o/c it to 315/645 without any problems.

I'd like to go higher, would any after market vid card fan/ram sinks help me or will I just be wasting my money? I'm willing to spend up to $40.

What would you guys recommend I get?

Thanks in advance.

I'd get a Cooljag 1U, its about $20 but probably the best HSF for your video card. I'm not sure whether it will help improve your overclock but it is worth a try.:)

or if you have BGA ram chips...not sure with that video card..

In case if you are unwilling to epoxy the 1u hsf to our gpu, just drill 4 holes on the heatsink that matches the standard 4 holes aound the gpu, and use screws/springs/washers to secure it.

i have the same video card except mine is the 128meg version. i plan on sticking a stock hsf from my next XP CPU purchase and modding it onto the GPU. the only problem would be space for the hsf. i can get the ram from 445 to 585 with stock coolong. the stock hsf blows the air over the ram on the bottom of the card maybe this has some cooling effect. i was thinking about getting some old p1 or p2 hsf's and sticking them on the ram chip or soemthing to that degree

this should be sufficient cooling for overclocking :p

does anyone know the max core speed this card can get to?

I second the CoolJag! Great cooler! Got my previous 4200 from 320 to 338 on the core. I just ordered one for my 4400 that replaced my KIA 4200

How do I tell what's BGA ram or not?

BGA ram is square...looks completely different then the rectangular "standard" DDR. Pretty sure thats always the case
