I know this should be in the storage forum, but since it only applies to those with dualie Im posting it here.
I have decided to go with SCSI Ultra160, I´m replaing my IDE discs. Now at first you may think that this would be really really expensive, but this is what I paid:
64bit/66mhz LSI logic dual channel ultra160 controller: $75
73 Gb 10.000 rpm 68p quantum or maxtor drive: $150
18 Gb 10.000 rpm 68p IBM: $50
The controller card supports _30_ harddrives and has a max transfer speed of 528 Mb/s if used in a 64-bit PCI slot.

Here's some competition from the other side of the fence.
HighPoint RocketRaid133 $74 (this is a 66 MHz capable card)
2 * 40 GB IBM 120 GXP hard drives $164 ($82 each)
Grand Total $238 and 100 MB/s sustained transfer speed.
(The IBM 120 GXP is the fastest IDE drive on the market for RAID 0, except maybe the new 180 GXP drives)

I thought the title was asking a question, but then his post never did.
Congrats on the SCSI. I wish I had the dinero.

very nice, and IDE and SCSI really cant be compared
SCSI = lots of low latency high speed
IDE = lots of high sustained transfer and cheap storage.
Great pickup, im going to be setting up my 18gb boot drive on an Adaptec raid card with 32mb cache...mmm :D
