i have 512 ddr pc2700 samsung. it won't even post if i change timings to 2.5-2-2...i can't raise my fsb over 176 w/ 2.8v and 2.5-3-3 timings...

is it possible i just got a "bad" stick? it still does over 166 (wht its rated for), but people said they got their samsung higher..

Alot of it has to do with luck. Some people get sticks of PC2100 that can do 190MHz while others get sticks that can't even hit 140. It sounds like that's the case in your situation.

are you using the 5:2:1 divider on the mobo?for cpu to pci and agp ratio!

i see you are running an athlon 2000+ wich is a 266fsb chip
witch meens by default the divider would be set at 4:2:1 causeing you to not boot do to pci and agp running too fare out of spec.

if you do have the 5:2:1 divider set, then you might have a bad stick.

i am running a 256 meg strip of sammy pc2700@286mhz, fsb of 193.
