Has anyone used 3D Mark at work with a Quadro 4? I'm curious to see how many 3d Marks it gets.

3dmark doesn't publish scores with professional video cards.

and they arent made with games in mind architecturaly(sp - if its even a word :)) so I should image it would really score as high as you would like it to...

I'm running a Quadro4-900 at work on a P4-2Ghz with 1GB of RAM and decided to run 3dMark at work today... it came out to an overall score near 10500. I'm sure it could do better with a little tweaking but this is my work system so I can't mess with it too much.

I wonder how a 3DLabs Wildcat VP 970 card would do? I know that they aint made for Gaming but still Check here (http://www.3dlabs.com/product/wildcatvp/)

100% Programmable Visual Processing
Leading OpenGL and Direct3D performance
Over 200 Gflop and 1.2 TeraOp VPU

3Dlabs is the only PC graphics company solely focused on designing professional-grade accelerators. Wildcat VP continues this tradition through relentless driver reliability testing and constant optimization and certification of leading professional applications... bla bla bla

Check here (http://www.beyond3d.com/articles/p10tech/index.php?page=wvp2.inc) to get more specs on these cards

I got to add that these are not the best in the range they only cost up to $1000.00. There are the Wild Cat III card Range that starts at over $1000.00

The Wildcat VPU is NOT recomended for games, only slightly better than my MX440. It shines in 4-view mode 3D applications, not much else good to say about it except visual quality. A Radeon 9700 pro is a much better choice unless you're running an OGL application -- cheaper too.

Pro 3D cards are usually built for OpenGL, Quadro4 is (in essense) modified game cards (TI4600) with OpenGL drivers. No doubt it's also optimised for stability in situations gamers wouldn't normally encounter.
DirectX is optimised for games, although a lot of modelling applications are designed for it. Afaik, only the most expensive (powerful) ones still use OGL.

Hopefully more than one too :D

Seriously tho, I wonder whether or not 3DLabs will ever return to the 'mainstream' desktop market

Does softquadro count? :p
I edited the bios of the card and then use the strap setting in Rivatuner.

quadro4 is the same as a gf4 but the drivers are heavily modified for 3d design work
