I am more interested in fast timings than high FSB becasue i have read and seen that timings give better results. I have a few questions.

I want to get the best stick from corsair that will let me crank those timings, and i am seeing that (for example) that 3000 has better timings than 3200 (tested) but the 3200 runs at a higher FSB, so what i am asking is... It seems as though the 3200 has higher quality chips on it making it so i can run it at 3000 speeds and better timings than a 3000 stick, same for 3500 vs 3200 (run 3500 at 3200 speeds with better timings than 3200 offers)

Is this true or what, and for the best timing results what would you recomend me buying from corsair?

Thanks a lot

Matt

pc 3200. Pc3000 is just good quality pc2700 that corsair has rated higher. Pc3500 is just good quality pc3200 that corsair has rated higher. Pc3200 is the way2 go.

So wouldnt buying a 3500 stick really give me a better quality pc3200 stick? why wouldnt i buy the 3500 then?

Because the 3500 still has an issue or two with the nForce2 chipset when run in pairs. Corsair is currently working on producing a revision specifically for the nForce2 boards.

If you are no tinterested in high gsbs, just get the cheapest ram rated for cas2, preferably pc2700. Googlegear has 512mb of Geil pc2700 cas2 for 140 - 145 bucks. If yo dont wanna ge tyour fsb real high, than dont pay the extra $$$.

Otherwise, the Corsai XMS pc3200 is the best. I think the platinum is the best. And n I dont think it cuz of the heaspreader, but because of how it is supposedly the newest revision, or so I hear.

I went on corsairs forums and they said that the 3200 had a issue with the SPD chip or somthing, but they fixed it in a new revision, how do i know (when i buy it( if i am getting the revision with the new SPD that will work on my NForce2 board?

And i still wanna know.... since what was said earlyer "pc3500 is just a really good quality stick of 3200" why wouldnt i get the 3500 just for the puropose of getting a higher quality peice of 3200, or am i thinking wrong, someone help em out please..

Thanks

Matt

I think rev 1.1 is the fixed revision of the 3200 line. It's what I'm running in my system and it's worked without a hitch. If you happen to get a v1.0 stick, you can either RMA it to the retailer or to Corsair directly. I've sent a stick back to Corsair and their RMA dept rivals that of Newegg. Very polite, helpful and courteous people. Sticks that are shipped to them are reviewed in 24 hours and a replacement is sent out via UPS 3-day air at no expense to you.

You wouldn't want to get PC3500 for an nForce2 board due to the data that is programmed into the SPD.

P.S. I love your avatar. 200HP Type S....mmmm

Heres somthing i am adding in myself...on corsairs site i found this

XMS Specification SPD Values
XMS2400 JEDEC PC2100 values
XMS2700 JEDEC PC2700 values
XMS3000 JEDEC PC2700 values
XMS3200 JEDEC PC2700 values
XMS3500 Custom PC3200 values

So maybe 3200 is the way to go, at least it will be sort of under JEDEC specs....
