need your advice
I got a set of Altec Lansing 5.1 speckers for a gift and now i need to get a sound card to go with them. I was just running onboard sound.
I am looking at either the sb Audigy gamer or the Audigy 2. Which do you peeps recommend?

Bah! Creative isn't worth the money. I would say either go for the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz or perhaps something from M-Audio or Terratec. The M-Audio revolution 7.1 is right in your price alley, and it's an excellent card from what I have heard.

I'm also about to buy a sound card, and from the advice I was given from this board, I chose the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz. Circuit City has a 50 dollar rebate on them.

There seems to be a big Turtle Beach push lately. I use a SB live value card and it's one of the best gifts I've gotten. Soon I'll be looking for a new card for my other rig and most likely I'll choose SB again. Nothin against Turtle Beach. I just dont know anyone that uses it thus have no experiences with it whatsoever. What can I say, I'm a creature of habit :)
