I am thinknig that if I wait till just after the geforceFX comes out, it will drive down the prices ofr the 9700 pro? This means I get a 9700 pro and be set for about a year and a half, that's ohw long my geforce3 has lasted so far with no problems.

Now my first question is why 9700pro do I get, retail, oem, herculies (what4ever that is) , or saphire (does tha5t exist). and what are the benifits of each? I do intend to do custom cooling if possible.

Also as for custom cooling, what is recomended for a good but quiet coolnig solution for a 9700 pro? Can I get something that uses a blower like on the geforceFX? I gdo have a blower on the top of my geforce3 right now that I could use for some custom heatsink stuff. And are ramsinnks recomended?

Sorry for bad spelling, I just re formated and don't have Worn instaled yet.

Well, if u want a good, efficient, quite cooling system, u can go wrong with the Zalman Heatpipe. Its fanless, and can do VERY well with the 9700 (ppl have been able to overclock to over 400MHz core with it). As for which one to go to, they are all the same, except for the cooling. Tyan gives the best there, however, if ur gonna put on ur own cooling, no need to spend the extra cash for one.

*edit* Heres a look at the Zalman heatpipe....

Yeah that heatpipe looks pretty sweet. I have been considering that with a 120mm fan in the side of my case blowing right over the agp slot.

I think I'll jsut get a 9700 pro OEM and the zalman thingy. (thoughts of a silent powerhouse prevading mind).
