I just got a geforce 4 mx 420, is there any real draw backs to this card I need to know about. so far I have not found any. I installed it in place of an ati 7000 that was slow and no where near the quality of this v-card.:p

GeForce 4 Ti range uses NV25...
GeForce 3 uses NV20...
GeForce 4 MX range uses NV17 (I think NV18 is the 8x)

either way this shows that they using something pre-GF3 - sure great as a home/office card which lets not forget...its what its intended for - but for games unless you have a beefy system about it your gonna have a hard time

I think the name is misleading. When they came out people were buying them thinking that they were the TI G4's

I bought one just recently. But then again, it was definately an upgrade from the Voodoo 2 (16 MB) I had/still have in my system.

Speaking of this card, does anyone know what kind of TVs support the TV-out feature this thing offers? Or, better yet, is there an adapter I can use to make it work on my normal, non-HDD, non-plasma TV?

I have heard good things about these cards though. Most of the people I have spoke to seem pretty happy with them. But they should run most games in 640x480x32.

I assume you have S-video on your card? A round connection where the cable has 4 pins and a flat little black thingy....

Then you can buy either a S-video to Scart Cable, S-video to RCA cable or S-Video to coaxial cable, depending on what connection you have on your TV. Most new TVs though, have a S-Video connection.

Here's a link to a company that sell the cables. Though I am not familiar with that company.

You should be able to get the cables at Radio-Shack, or similar store.

You also need cables for the sound, if you don't want it through your pc-speakers.
