Get this one...
OS: Windows XP / 2000
Version: 41.09
File Size: 16.3 MB
Release Date: December 3, 2002
i am running 42.01's here and they are stable and giving me good results, you can always check www.filemirrors.com for download or www.guru3d.com
ok.. tried the 41.09's .... they make my system even worse (as in i cant even get into the log on screen w/o the pc rebooting.).... i tried the drivers which came with the card.. doesnt work... hell ive even tried it with ati drivers... and it just doesnt want to work!!!!!!!
sorry... ive been trying to figure out why this video card will not work on my machine.. i got a new PSU today, 350 watts.. thought it would help... well.. i got it booting into windows finally.. but there is soo much lag i have run out options... so ive come to the conclusion... this video card hates me!!!!!
well if anyone has any suggestions... plz feel free to help me:) btw.. i just reformatted my pc the other day... also one thing... when i just put the card in today... and tried to install the 41.09's, it said that it detected other drivers.... . what other drivers would it be talking about??? i cant seem to find any...
you guys think that windows installed ati drivers because when i reformatted, i had my ati card in there??? if yes, how to i get rid of these drivers?????
thanks for all the help :D

hey pirate, id love to tell you that my video card and i made up, but that didnt happen :( i put in my video card into my system, and when i tried booting up, it said there was an operating system error. it didnt even want to start to load into windows, and therefore i can not tell you if the 42.01 det's are any good.
so i have descided... im puttin this poor excuse of a card back into the box and throwin it out the windows:D so im here stuck with my 8 meg ati card till my new system comes in the next 2 months.

just a quick suggestion on your nvida card, most 64 mb mx2s require 500mhz or more to run.i see by your sig your it 450,also the 64 ram stick could be to slow for nvida card to cope with.
try 29:42 drivers they are very stable, but i still think your cpu is to low!
bassbeatz, thanks for the suggestion, ill try it w/o my 64 meg stick in there... and with the 29.42 drivers .....and btw.. the card is a 32 meg.

ok, so i treid all fo that, i even tried other detonator drivers, nothing works... i took out the 64 meg stick and only have the 256 in there,
the cpu shoudl be fine, cus on the box it says that intel pentium, pentium pro, pentium II, pentium III, or compatible cpu's are minimum requierments.. it doesnt have windows XP as an os tho... it only has 2000, 98, and nt4 with sp3 or later.. maybe it doesnt support XP??? thats all i can think of.. cus when the card is in my friends cpu, it works fine....he uses ME and 2000 tho...
so im stumped...
could it be the bios/firmware of my video card???? could i flash it or something?!?!?! if yes where would i get the update for it??

Could be mismatched drivers, try this:
1. Go to Add/Remove software and uninstall Nvidia drivers, BUT DO NOT reboot yet, just let that question box sit for a moment while you..
1a. Delete the C:\NVIDIA directory
1b. do a search for nv*.* and delete every file you find. (It will be alot and it won't let you touch 2 or three of them like nv4mini.sys, and nv4inst.dll.
1c. When those files are all gone, then reboot and when the system brings up the found hardware dialogue, cancel out of it without loading any drivers!!!
2. Do another search on nv*.* and delete the last of the files. Just to be sure, empty you recycle bin.
3. Reboot again just to be sure you're starting fresh, again canceling the found new hardware screen without installing drivers.
4. Run the setup program for the new driver series you want to install and go ahead and reboot when prompted.
NVidia is like a cancer when it comes to getting rid of old driver files, and adding new ones without first cleansing your system of the old is almost always bad news. I use the above method EVERY time I switch between driver releases (Which is a serious pain when I want to compare 3-4 versions in a day for perforamnce) But it is the only method I've found that works every time.
Hope this helps.

i got the nvidia Geforce2 mx 400 64 meg and i run the 41.09 it seems to be the best one for me. i tired the 29.42 driver that so many peolple say they like but it made my comp run terrible. but let me know if you find a good one, so i know about it incase mine starts acting up.
DreamingWolf,
ill try your method in a few days... i have just lent my vid card to my friend.. and testin out his 8500LE. so when i get it back ill give your method a try and hope that it works.. thanks for the help:)
rcillig,
ill let you know what drivers work.. so far.. none that ive tried have worked... for some reason.. i dont think its a driver issue... Nvidia just hates me :( i brought over my friends GF 2 MX400 and couldnt get anything to work with it either...
