Anyone here play Day of Defeat? I used to play CS all the time untill they patched the heck out of it. Now its all DOD for me. It has more features anyway. Not to mention that its more realistic.

yea its a great mod, i still prefer the WWII of moh or bf but its a really fun game i recommend it for anyone

Its a great game! You don't have to have a super computer to run it either. Its realistic too. Like where in real life are you going to be able to take a rife shot to the chest, kill a guy, then some magical health pack appears to make you all better? Thats what kills me about MOHAA.

DoD is great...

sniping is SO hard now, no more on the fly stuff....

and gun accuracy is hell....

makes it a challenge!!

if you like DOD you should definately try America's Army. i would describe it as much like DOD except a modern timeframe, its more tactical and better than DOD too i'd say

I ping really high, but its still playable in good servers.

My favorite gun is definitley the MP-40. Then the Grease Gun on the Allied side, they are both just so fun! I also like the thompson and the garand (although MOH:AA's garand is much better). It just depends on what mood I'm in...

I hear ya on that one. Sometimes I will just sit back and snipe or MG. I like the game a lot because it involves major team work and communication.

DoD is a wicked game, I played MOHAA and its not as challenging, its just running around and shooting, with always run enabled. In DoD the realism factor is what makes me keep on playing. You get tired if you run, and you otta rest, and the weapons are cooler, no rocket launchers, the deployable MGs. I always play the axis side, they got the better weapons, and I love shoveling people with the spade. I still haven't tried American Army, but I will soon.

I love the game. My favorite is being AXIS with the 98 rifle. It's actually the sniper rifle but without the scope. All you have to do is get that little dot anywhere on the enemy and he'll always die with one hit.

I think AXIS is better for weapons, the 98 rifle and assualt rifle, but the thing I don't get is why some servers seem to ban that axis weapon that can be bi-pod or scope.

DoD is definatally great, when I first played it I was so hooked on playing nonstop. I would get BF1942, but I'm gonna need at least $100 to upgrade my computer to get a vid card to play modern games.

sum it up, DoD is definatally a great mod.

Me and the Frag tried playing DOD once....

Man that game is hard, especially since everyone who plays is really adept. I dunno, it was fun for a little while but it seems like all the kills in that game rely on camping or luck.

If you hate campers, DoD is NOT the game for you.
It has some great featured, such as the "pick up nade" feature. If you're camping and someone throws a nade near you you can pick it up and throw it right back at them. Hot nading is fun, you throw it on the ground, pick it up, and throw it again, that was the other team has less time to pick it up. One thing that bugs me is that if your machine gun is deployed, it is REALLY accurate, we're talking sniper rifle accuracy. It makes it kind of a no brainer since it only takes 2 shots from a machine gun (which has a 150 round clip) to kill you.

Its an okay game, it has no glitches, but there are some fairness issues.

its about time this game gets some fans. since i started playing it i have yet to figure out why cs is ten times more popular. to look at it now, its so friggen advanced for a hl engine.

true, been playing it for a long while, i dont like how they nerfed the BAR tho, it use to be so much better :-( This game is damned good IMHO

dod is bad @zz. usually its a toss up when i play games i either wanna play cs or dod. hrmmmmm...... usually i alternate playing or just stick to one. the only bug i know is the nade bug.

man i loved DOD, i haven't played it in about 4 months. i used to
use the m1carbine always on the allies, and either an MG42 or
the kar98 on the axis.

now i am playing WWIIOL, great massive online DOD game :D

I was an addict to DoD but now i have moved over to America's Army and I must say it's a whole lot better! Also i went out and purchased Ghost Recon, Desert Seige & Island Thunder played it for 3 hours and now i can't stop!!! Great game! Also for real time and realism i can recommend all of the Flashpoint Series very good !

A geforce 2 is what you proplay could get by on.

I LOVE DOD!!!!! I at my first lan party I played CS then DOD and I loved DOD so much more. I like playing as the Axis personaly, better guns, and they have darker clored uniforms which make them harder to see. (I think at least)

a few months ago I set up a lan at my house and I veres my two brothers in DOD. (ones 14 the others 12) I am axis and they are allies. They are pretty good now. Got to be much more careful!

Oh for my fav gun it would have to be the semi auto german rifle. Then in second are the mp44 or the mp40

Oh yes, I remember the good times 1.3B. I was the only light infintry running up Omaha beach with a live grenade in my hand and the tnt in the other. Then an axis solder would make the mistake of gunning me down. I fell to the ground and in my blood red vision i saw that grenade roll out of my hand and on to the feet of my killer and his commrads, BOOM. For all of those people who played 1.3B you know what im talking about. DOD ver2.0 was the death of DOD in my mind.

The requirements for DOD are low because of the damage system you only need to keep the wep on target for a second to drop someone so FPS arent an issue. My gaming rig needed a new bios chip so I was stuck with my old K6-2 machine and stuck with no games to play. I installed CS and hated it.. so I tried DoD and it have become one of my favorite games.

I only play on Cean2 servers though (avalanche occasionally)
as axis. "ExItWoundZ" Got into the mod late though @ 3.1 The BAR is way to powerful.. 2shot kills and 10x 20rnd clips. I generally use a STG44..

been playing alot of the FireArms mod too. The community is really small though. I'll have try americas army..
