i have a 512 stick of corsair pc2700 cas2 .... i took off the heatspreader and it says samsung... did i get screwed at the used car lot?

i dont know what chips they use ,but samsung chips dont seem odd i mean its only meant to run at 166mhz @ cas2 ,so i woulnt expect some winbond chips or anything. as long as it works at 166mhz @ cas2 i'd say you're fine

Corsair did exclusively use the Samsung chips for their 2700 and 3000 ram sticks. Before that Corsair mostly used Infineon chips. I don't know what they are using for their 3200 and 3500 ram sticks?

Cheers,
Mike
