I am just wondering what heatsink will fit on a retail 64mb radeon 8500. I have a crystal orb, but its terrible. It dosen't do much at all. Any ideas?

SSS had made a guide to fitting an Alpha pal15u on an 8500 (on front page) im sure that a 1U cooler would be best for you

I figured, hrrmmm, just there is not much room. There are a few capacitators and other things really close to the gpu and the heatsink may hit it?

yeah you have to dremel the sink a bit, I bought the one SSS had on his old 8500, it was a kicka** cooler thats fer sure, I actually wish I would have kept it when I sold my 8500 LE and put it on my 9500 Pro.

But it is definitely the best solution.

This is going to be tough, maybe I'll post in the wanted section for one already cut.

will one of those thermaltake lower profile coolers work?

Yeah, but the problem is you have to cut the sides a bit to get it to fit.

Lol. I think its performing bad on mine. I can't overclock past 290/290 and if I feel the c'orb while in 3dmark its really hot. Better cooling will probably get me a better overclock, so I want better cooling.
