Do you have DVI or VGA?
Most LCD have both?
The 9700 pro comes with a vga to dvi
and both on the card.
I use DVI ($59.00 cable) and don't see any gain for the cash:bang head

You didn't see any difference going from vga to dvi? I noticed a huge difference on my lcd. The DVI colors are much brighter and more true, especially the blues.

Guys, I don't think Altar stated that he has a LCD so he might just have been asking what the use of this adapter would be.
The thing is, the Radeon 9500 card has 1 VGA connecter and 1 DVI connecter at the back of it and you can use the DVI adapter to be able to hook up a second VGA monitor as opposed to a LCD if you use it.
So the only time you need the adapter is if you have 2 VGA monitors you want to hook up to the card. The adapter allows you to turn the DVI port at the back of the card into a VGA port.
The adapter doesn't have pins on it on the vga side naturally so you can't use it on the vga port to get 2 DVI ports.
Summary: You either get 1 DVI and 1 VGA
OR with the adapter,
you get 2 VGA ports.
Edit: If you have a single monitor, no matter what it is, you don't need the adapter at all.

Hey Beast_USA, I didn't notice a difference hooking my 9700PRO up to my LCD via the vga or DVI connections either. I tried them both multiple times with no differernce. I settle on using the DVI jsut because.......... :)
I asked the question a while ago, but no one realy answered it
