Mic input on Live! 5.1 Gamer ??????

ok,
I have a Soundblaster Live! 5.1 Gamer sound card, and there's something wrong with the mic input. It records, but the sound is full of static, and generally bad and unclear. I've tried different mics, which have been tested on other systems to make sure they work. I have also upgraded and reinstalled the latest drivers for the card, all to no avail. aside from buying a new card, any suggestions or help?

It's probably broken...try using the Line in...

the mic doesn't work on the line-in plug. Guess I'll just get a new card :rolleyes:

Might also be that there are some conflicts with other hardware you have...if you have the chance, then try the card in another system.
If you get a new one, the Audigy is good, in my opinion, have it myself. Has firewire included, saves you a PCI slot.

Ive had 3 sblive 5.1's and the mic input always worked.. But i had problems with the headphone jack on 2 of them.
