is 3 sitcks of RAM too many?

i curently have 2X256 of crucial pc2700. a buddy of mine has an extra stick of 256 and i was wondering if i would benefit any from using it. when we LAN and play games i am usually the server. should i use this extra stick?

As long as it doesn't effect system stability adversly by using 3 RAM slots, It can't hurt.
