3D Mark seems low...Leadtek Ti 4200 128mb

does this seem a little low to anyone else.
I got the Leadtek Ti4200 128mb
my core is at 303 and mem is at 545. AA is off and Antistropic if off and vsync is off! My CPU is not o'c at the moment due to weak ram (512DDR 2100). My score for 3D Mark 2001 is around 9000 give or take. doesn't this score seem low? or is it low because my fsb is not raised?

Yeah OCing your CPU/FSB will push that card even more and may get you over the magical 10.000 3DMarks limit. My own system isn't that fast but OCed it took me from 5671 to 7559 so it makes a huge difference...

What resolutions are you using? I had a slight difference when i changed mine... My scores were similar also with my setup.

What are the default clock speeds of your video card again? I'm sure if you got a nice heatsink on that you could probably o/c it a lot and make your scores really jump

my resolution is 1024x768..
my stock clock speeds for my Vid card is i think 245/445 i think..i am pretty sure if not close to that
....just hopefully i get some better ram so i can oc my cpu..right now i have the AMD XP 1800+...with 512 ddr. just my ram is grabage and it cant handel any increase in fsb. its gone nuts before where one of my sticks blew and it ****ed up my dimm slots...just going to leave it till i get some better ram..i tried running the card at 304/590 and the artifacts were unbelievable. how did all these guys get there memory to hit 620?...how the hell is that possible on a Ti 4200...cant be done...

If you want to get better ram you should think about getting a 512 stick of corsair pc3200, that stuff is the best! it will fix your problems for you and overclocks awesome. Googlegear.com is a very good company

I just got a new geforce 2 mx400 :( Pathetic i know, but i'm gonna try and overclock it. i just got a crystal orb cooler and am gonna see how that goes.

On your video card do you have a good heatsink? Getting the chips cool is the best way to increase the cards overclockability. You should think about getting some ramsinks and a better heatsink and fan, or both, if you want to push your card. Heatsinkfactory.com has some good products

the card is Leadtek its got a heatsinks all around the the card and they are joined, with a pretty good sink fan...here it is...

That looks like a pretty good heatsink and what not. I don't know why others get their clocks so high... maybe they have super duper cooling or motherboards or something. lol

Hi guys.

Cooler i belive those guys were able to get their clock speeds up to 620+ is because they`re using the 64mb versions of ti4200 graphics card. Because those cards are set at stock speeds of 250/550.

I have a Ti4200 128mb also from MSI and the highest I can go with it is 300/575 without artifacts. And if I raise my memory clock any higher artifacts appear. Your leadtek should overclock more or maybe less than mine.

Btw i`ve got coolermaster ram sinks on my vid card rams. B4 that i cant reach 575 without artifact but now its stable at 575.

Generally speaking, the 128mb version of Ti4200 uses 4ns ram, while the 64mb version uses 3.6ns, thats the difference. But nowadays, the 128Mb version should use the same ram as the 64Mb version.

Have no worries...I was concerned about my 3d score and thought I should get higher scores too. W/ no tweaking I get 8600...w/ minor tweaking I get 9600. By minor I mean a 100 mhz increase(raised FSB) and slight Vid card O/C 255/580.
If I was dedicated I could get the big 10 in 3d mark 2001se:D
The guys are right...better mem & cooling will get us better results. The rig used was the main one in my sig:) Have a compare Co0Ler.

try to use detonators v 29.40, 30.82 or the latest 42.01. If those drivers don't improve your score, i dont know which will hehehe

Well, if i were u i would definitely install detonotors 41.09, I have tried it on many ti42 systems, aveg score improvement is 500.

I got mine improved 700 tho....

The difference between 29.40, 30.82 and the 40.XX is like 1000 3dMarks, but i have slight problems with refresh rates cuz they don't change properly sometimes even with all utils and settz avalaible. So i reverted back to 29.40, 1000 points less but still O.K.!

i got the the latest driver. i overclocked my cpu a bit(cant too much cause my ram sucks!) and i increased the ram speed a bit to 560 and it did increase my score by like 400.

i see no artifacts yet...i am going to try and hit 575 like sketch. i will see if its stable. it should be able to handle that ram speed. that should push me to hit 10 000. then when i get better ram i can increase the fsb like a mad man....:mad:

mark still wont hit 10 000 on 3D mark...i cant believe this garbage!

What exactly was ur score? if you could get a lil more out of your memory clock you might be able to get it... at least thats how mine is, it seems like the only thing that makes my score higher is a higher memory clock
