It states that the p4pe mobo's agp slot is 1.5v only so does this limit the type of card that can be used - ie gf3 ti500?

No. That is in compliance with AGP. Older cards used 3.3v. Newer cards use 1.5v. Using a 3.3v card in a 1.5v slot can damage the motherboard.

So my 1 1/2 year old Xstacy gf3 ti500 will be useless in the p4pe mobo then?

No, thats a 1.5v card... I mean like cards that only support AGP2x, maybe older, like a Matrox G400 or Rage 128...
