View Full Version : Another freebie, this time from an unlikely source... Microsoft.
Microsoft is offering Exhange Server 2003 Beta 2 for download. I know this may not interest some of you, but read on. They're also offering the option of ordering an Exchange Server Beta 2 Kit on CD for the cost of shipping/handling and any applicable taxes. In the kit, you'll also get Microsoft Office 11 Beta 1 as well as Windows .NET Server 2003 RC2, which rumor says has been renamed (yes, again) to Windows Server 2003.
Visit the Exchange Server 2003 Beta 2 (http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/evaluation/ti/beta.asp) page on Microsoft's site for more information.

You can easily be removed by suggesting something like that...do a forum guideline search.

Yes, but if you think about it, the 365 day time period is a *long* time ... in 365 they will have another update to download which will give you another 365 days I believe and by then, you can switch back to your old OS
Wasn't exactly free, cost me a whole $7.30, not that I'm complaining.

Like is the key word, as this one is much newer and based on WinXP. this is NT5.2 while 2k was NT5 and XP NT5.1

Lucky you...I paid $11.90 for S&H. :rolleyes:
I just got mine today. Neat lil' package, w/ 4 cd-roms.
One thing in the System Requirements listed on the package I just got (that wasn't mentioned on the website at the link from above);
Operating System Requirements
Exchange 2003 Beta is supported on the following operating systems:
Windows 2000 SP3 (full release build)
Windows.NET 2003 Release Candidate 2
I guess my idea of XP Pro is out the window (pardon the pun).
At least it came with a copy of Windows.NET 2003 Release Candidate 2. :rolleyes:

How is the OS holding up for those who've recieved it? I'd like to get it, but everytime I click on submit it gives me an error. Oh well, I'll try again tomorrow.

I installed it. Had a few hiccups with the NIC driver support. However, everything else is running fine.

I had the same problem but all i did was find the driver disk and it turned out okay
I had to move my nic from PCI slot #1 to #2. XP didn't have a conflict with AGP, but Server 2003 did.
