Yes im a noob, but ill try my best to MY knowledge. But if im not mistaken, Your CPU cant handle a 166 FSB stock. Its a 133 CPU so your ram will not run @ 166 unless OCed. Maybe im wrong and stupid? Please let me know too :)

yes spritz is corect if you will look WCPUID states, system bus"283" mhz ddr. this is called the bottle neck efect. even though the ram is actually running at 333mhz youre data transfer rate is acualy limited to the fsb speed of 283. the bandwith is being wasted to a certain extent.

instead of wasting the bandwith run the ram at the same speed as the cpu. set the ram to 133 in bios. this will alow you to reach higher fsb speeds without stressing youre ram as bad and will let you utilize all avalable bandwidth!

walldow: i never even realized that! i was looking at your fsb and mem speed and my fsb and mem speed, do you think maybe my mem is what is holding my fsb back? i have it set to 166 not 133 in the bios. is yours set to 133 or 166?

Simple explanation, your system bus is set to 141.99, which directly affects the memory settings available. 141.99 x 2 = 283.98 (System is rounding down to 283 for some reason. You probably have another setting that says 349, correct? This is the 333 setting adapted for the overclock. Hope this makes sense.

yes if you run the ram at the same speed as the fsb you should be able to get to higher fsb speeds say 170 or better. now the ram won't run at 400 mhz because you are not reaching the 200mhz fsb speed because of the mobo limitation. but as i sead in the top post it doesn't matter if you are running the ram at 400mhz because the data will only be processed at the rate of the fsb.

my mobo has a 5/2/1 divider that lets me run at 166 without disterbing the pci and agp. i have mine set to 166 because of the 1/5 divider. using the 5/1 divider lets me have a standerd cpu clock speed of 166 while the pci and agp stay at stock speeds. so i set my ram at 166 olso. therfore when i raise the the fsb the ram is increased at the same rate!

youre mobo only supports the 1/4 divider letting you run 133. with youre ram set to 166 and youre fsb running with the 133 on a 1/4 divider. youre ram is probley craping out at obove 406mhz not letting you reach the higher fsb speeds you could be running.if you lower the ram to run 133 you would be under clocking the ram but at the same time it would let you reach higher fsb speeds increasing performance of the system as a whole instead of just the ram running at high speeds.

give it a try and see if it doesn't let you reach the higher fsb speeds! unless it is actualy somthing else cpapping out on you past 162 but i dought it.
