I have read a lot of threads of people getting over 3000 in sandra with corsair 3200. Im only able to get 2500 with xms3500.
im running at maximum memory timings @ 180FSB.

Is my memory bad?

Mem bandwidth is dependant on many things... First what MOBO are you using? Second, just cause memory is 3200 or 3500 or whatever, it won't put out it's rated bandwidth until you run it at THAT speed. So, to get the bandwidth of the 3500 stick, you need to be running your FSB at 217! You still wouldn't get a score of 3500 though as it is NEVER 100% efficient, maybe 90% if your lucky.

I get 2600 mb/s @ 173mhz fsb with my epox board and I got 2450 mb/s with my sold MSI kt3ultra so I think it depends of the mobo. What mobo are you using?

its an MSI KT4 Ultra. At thims moment im running at 195 x 9 and i get a 2700 score. Is that at spec eiththe memory?

those scores do seem a bit low... i'm running my memory at 150fsb and i score in the 2000-2200 range (dont remember)

what did u mean by "maximum settings"? hopefully you ment lowest numbers, becuase with memory you want the lowest timings possible. Hope that helps

This is my Corsair PC3000 Cas2 @ 225 FSB,if I had tried that at cas 2 the score would have been quite a bit better.

over 3000 marks

Is it because those people are using P4 instead of AMD?

Intel P4 has 533MHz internal memory bandwidth (133 x 4 channels) while Athlon XP has only 2 channels (133 x 2). Probably that affects the Sandra's score on memory bandwidth test.

I am on an AMD system, but P4's do have much better bandwidth and still have it to spare,to get over 3000 you risk everything in your system though.

I had my system running 193 with the SPD option on my 8KHA+ and I get an awful score of 2150 - 2200 only. I wonder if it is possible to run synchronously on the 8KHA+ ? It s*cks when it's in the SPD mode.

I can run mine both ways, just highlight byspd in the bios and hit enter then + or - and see if it will change,if your score drops then your definitly getting errors from your memory.I only ran them together to see what my system could handle,I have ran it at 230 before but scored nearly identical.my memory will do quite a bit more then my componets will though.

Hehehee, nothing in my system is overclocked and I get 3100/3000 mem. XMS 3200 + nForce2 really is amazing. My 2400 is at 10x200 sync with the mem (gonna start pushing that today, didn't want to deal with the whole Prime95 for 24 hours thing just yet).

I am thinking about upgradeing to an Nforce board myself, just giveing it a lil more time to see the good and bad about it,hows your experience been with it so far may I ask?

You will get the same buffered (default) Sandra memory scores no matter the CAS: 2-2-2-5 same as 2.5-3-3-7 at DDR426 or whatever. But your unbuffered memory scores will be higher at faster CAS settings. At DDR426 you might see 3200/3100 buffered, but maybe 1700/1700 at 2-2-2-5 versus 1550/1550 at 2.5-3-3-7 on you unbuffered scores. And your 3DMark score might go up 200 points at 2-2-2-5.

2500 buffered sounds about right at 180 fsb, 1:1. Unfortunately, the scores are not really impressive on Athlon boards as you have to run 1:1.
