I know you can, but what would be the benefits? I thought the board would just recogonize it as a PC3200. Would there be more head room to OC?

I've seen a lot of people use the PC3500 ram on boards that can only handle PC3200 and PC2700?

the speed dosent matter unless you are overlocking, i could use pc-3500 on an earley ddr board that only supported pc-1600 the only diffrence is speed. even if you use pc-3500 in that pc-3200 board the memory will still default to pc-2100 speeds, it's in the bios that you change the settings.

but yes, the benefit would be extra headroom while overclocking, if your board maxes out at 200mhz fsb your pc-3500 will just allow you to run your ram at faster timings.

hope that helps
