the sinks and crystal orb will work good if you're going to oc. you might also want to check out www.zalmanusa.com (http://www.zalmanusa.com/) , they have some pretty neat cooling solutions for your vid card. I personally would probably go witht he alum sinks and orb, cheapest deal. In regards to how high you should OC your 9700 pro, (stock cooling) ive seen 380mhz clock 600mhz memory(built by ati radeon 9700 pro). good luck man

I also have a 9k5 with original ATI cooler and 9k7 layout. There's a CO left from my Ti200 - would you say it will be better than the original ATI cooler?
DO NOT DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You cannot bridge the gap between the shim and the GPU. If you remove the original thermal pad, you must replace it with a thermal pad. AS3 etc. will not bridge that large of a space.
I bought the Zalmans and put in a blowhole and side fan.
See - forum.oc-forums.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=157975
I bought a Crystal Orb. ****ty contact surface!!! Had to lap it for two hours. Get a belt sander........... I like Thermaltake but this is not a serious cooler.
Stay with the stock Sink & fan and put in a side fan blowing over it. You could go with the Zalmans like I did, they are a kick a*s cooler. But I stll would not recommend passive cooling. The sinks get mighty toasty.
I've got memory sinks on the 9500Pro also.....
The memory throws of alot of heat!!!!
Cool them if you want to wind them up.
Shoot me a reply or PM if you want detailed info. Works great!:p
just an fyi,the shim pop off easily, get a sharp knife and carefully pry it up.thats how i got my shim off.
