i want to ask u guys ur opinion on this. i know most of the chipsets nowadays use either ddr333 or 400. i have found a local store that sells 512mb kingston (w/infeneon chips) ddr266 memory for cheap. is it still ok to buy ddr266 when the kt266a chipset is almost dying? i *might* be buying a new mobo and proc soon.
:(

If you're upgrading mobo and cpu it is probably worth buying some faster memory, you don't want slow memory causing a bottleneck in your new system

if you get a new mobo for your current proc it's a good idea to get ddr 266 because of the low fsb, make sure you get CAS 2 because that'll be the only extra performance you'll get from meory, if you want a T-bred with a 166 fsb CAS 2 DDR 333 would be good because of the fsb
