I'll probably put this in cyber deals as well .

you can't get over $20 and most people will recieve less then $5....... not even worth my time :(

it goes to charity, we wouldn't see a dime of it anyway.

3 or 4 ppl in a house is still up to $80

Also it seems that charity only gets the $$ if too many claim . If too little claim Idunno what would happen . I don't think it would hurt if you are a US resident and signup . At the least you give $$$ to charity . At best you get $20 of what they stole from you .

yea, i posted this a bit ago....

The way it goes is the most you will get is 20 bucks, no matter how many people sign up. If enough people sign up where the cash distribution would be less than 5 dollars per signee, then all of the cash would be donated to charity.

I signed up. I expect at the least a small check. I don't care about the money. Obviously, this is not enough money to compensate for what i've been ripped off in buying music....and I havent been, because I only buy music where it's cheap...i.e. best buy, target, circuit city, anywhere that has reasonable prices.

All I want out of this is to see the RIAA (or rather a large part of it) get screwed out of 143 million dollars. I would honestly prefer to see the 65 mil cash settlement go to charity, rather than it going to 13.5 million people who get 5 dollars each ($67,375,000 total / $5 each = 13,475,000 people)....seems like a waste, doesn't it?

So therefore I encourage you to spread this to as many people as possible. Try and get many people to sign up so this money can go to charity.

Even if all the money ends up going to charity, it takes five minutes to fill out the form and it may just cost the music industry $143,000,000.

If they have to pay out the bucks, then they will no longer be allowed to rape our wallets (at least not as much as they have been).

So did you have to do anything extra or did it just show up? I don't recall telling them how many CD I may have bought (like I could prove it) or anything.

Nope, just filled out the form on the site...

I'm probably going to go buy a (still overpriced) $18.95 retail CD with the newfound cash :p

NOT!

I have to know....where is everyone buying their CDs???!?

$18.95 is a complete rip off....if you're paying that for a new CD, you're shopping at the wrong place.

$15 is the most I'll pay for a single CD...and that's for a new release. If it's been out for a while, they're usually $13 or so. $19 is for a double CD....

I hear ya brother. I did recently pay over $20 ($18.95 plus local sales tax, 8.25%) for the new Living Colour CD (the "I want it now" syndrome), but I usually go on ebay or amazon when I want something.

$15 a pretty fair price, but I truly get hours of enjoyment for music... as a matter of fact, I get more repeat listens to a music CD then a repeat viewing of a DVD movie.

Just got my $13 in the mail yesterday. Gave me a little bit of satisfaction knowing they had to pay up!

Just got my $13.86 also. They gouged way more than $13.86 from me over the years, but hey, $13.86 > $0.
