asus p4t533-c problem

A friend of mine has this board and he's having the following problem-
He has a P4 2.4B chip, an asus p4t533-c, 512MB of Kingston RDRAM PC1066. He can only run his P4 at 1.89 with everything working. He can post at 2.069 but sound doesn't work anymore. Any higher and it won't post. His bios is version 1008c

what fsb are you using?

He found out what the problem was.

He's a direct quote from an im from him on what it was:

you kant enable there stoopid krap for the usb portz to let ya start from the power button on a keyboard or wutever, so disableing the jumper on the bo0rd for the extra 1a to be supplied to the USB portz fixes the USB problem, getz me bak up to being able to run at 2.4 and gives me sound to0
the power up by usb sh*t is disabled by default. i never tuched em but the one on my board was enabled n one wasn't. so i disabled both n it booted right up n ran at 2.4 for me like a charm. so im happy
