hey i am building a new system but my buget is small
(about 500$) i already have a cd drive, floppy, hard drive and sound card i will buy

a chieftec dragon mid case
a P4 2.4B GHZ 512K 533MHZ FSB
a generic video card
128 of memory
and some cabels


i would like to get the best motherboard i can afford i was thinking about $150 anyone know what i shoud get
i would like to get a good motherboard and chip and then slowly upgrade my pc

If you are looking at overclocking that Intel board will not allow it. As far as the ABIT I say go for it. You will be able to overclock it and should be able to reach 3.0 GHZ easily.
 
Go with a Albatron board they are cheap and very fast. I recomend a board with the 845pe chipset.
 
Id recommend the gigabyte PE667 board, its been rock stable for me and at a $125 Canadian price, you cant lose. But the ABIT is also a good board! lots of features and a great company!!!
