What's the difference between Bulk and retail on NewEgg.

Yes, the card is 4X compatable.

The bulk cards are "Powered by ATI," and the retail cards are "Built by ATI."

just because a card is retail doesnt mean that it is built by ati. the retail cards just come in a pretty box with an owners manual and warranty. all that good stuff. retail cards could be made by sapphire tech, powercolor, as well as ati. im not really sure about the difference between bulk and oem though. anyone?

bulk/white box means that pretty much all you get is the retail card with a CD and no extra goodies and maybe a reduced warranty

oem is short for original equipment manufacturer, such as the companies augustwest listed, and they fall under the "powered by ATI" category...watch out some of these cards use lesser quality components and have reduced core/memory speeds

NewGuy, you have to make sure that your 4x AGP mobo supports 1.5V AGP cards, some of the really older mobos only support 3.3V cards

True that.....

My bad. Bulk or white box means OEM. Could be by anyone. Retail is the pretty box etc.

Nothing wrong with OEM, most of my system is OEM parts. As long as you are high speed enough to do without the disks/cables/nuts & bolts.

BUT, be careful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 9500/9700 are hot items right now. So, many sellers are not being entirely truthful about the cards. Retail/OEM? Bulit by ATI/Powerded by ATI?

Make sure you know the details so you don't get screwed. They all have their own pricing ranges. Do some serious price comparison.
