what will the comp do if memory is running too high?

If your mem starts to strain, your computer will probably become unstable (and may bluescreen in preference to just freezing)

You might want to consider researching and implementing some form of cooling for your RAM - when it's running flat-out, it will get warmer than the norm.

also, I recomend that when testing you a memory benchmark that doesn't need windows like mem 86, so you won't get data corruption, just because you can use windows at a really high speed without crasses doesn't mean there won't be slightly data corrupted being writting to the disk;)

If you push it too hard, it will either not POST, or it will POST but not load Windows (BSOD or just reboots). If it makes it into Windows it will BSOD or fail stress tests.

That's been my experience anyway.
