i build a waterblock...

i build a waterblock... :D

i have no cam, i can't post pics in these days... :(
(probably later...)

old alumin. 486 heatsink,
some fiberglass blocks,
'n metal epoxy used...

lapped contact surface,




there's 2 question 4 you???

*i heard "copper & aluminium r works same in waterblocks"
is that right?

*can i cool my 1800+ with my homemade h2o-block?
(contact surface looks little thin 2 me :()

Remember that 486 heatsink was designed to be used with a fan (Air). Boxing it in and running water through it will not make it designed to be a water block. You will have to thin the base out some to get better thermal transfer between the water and CPU. Good Luck with your home made block. Let us know how it performs.

hard work with dremel ;)
i think i redesigned it with my toolz,
now looks like hyrodynamic...

pics and temps comin' soon :D
 
I'll tell you my opinion once I see pics. My (blind) guess would be that it would be sufficient for cooling an 1800+, however.
