Audigy 2 vs Audigy 1 drivers

Is there any real sound or performance increase from audigy 1 drivers to audigy 2 drivers. How can i install audigy 2 drivers on an audigy 1 sound card; when i try, it just says i dont have an audigy sound card.

I was wondering the same thing.. I heard a rumor that you can use the audigy 2 drivers on the audigy 1 and get some improvments? does anyone know?

Did you ever think that the Audigy 2 drivers are for the Audigy 2 card? I doubt that it will work with the Audigy 1. As its meant for the Audigy 2. The drivers and included software i think take advantage of the more powerful Audigy 2.

Just like the detonator driver will work for the Geforce2MX200 and the Geforce4Ti4600.. I don't think it is out of the realm of possiblity that it can be the same way with this chip. And if it does work, is there any benifits or negatives.. Which brings us back to where we started. I will just download the driver and try it out sometime this weekend and let you guys know what I find.
