I have my vcore at 1.825 in the BIOS. Board is a Gigabyte XET-C.
Decided to MAKE my 1.2 Tualatin Celly run at 1608mhz yesterday
and cranked up the vcore to max available setting.

Not worried too much about the $48 cpu. (Max load temp is
only 38c. Wedged an AX-7 with a high output Sunon on it
in between the capacitors...)

Bios and MBM both show the chip drawing 1.81v at this setting.
5v is good at 5.04. Using an Enermax 350 PSU

Is this stressing the motherboard or just the CPU ?
(This board has run over 150 for extended periods with
a P3-S in it, but at nowhere near the CPU voltage....)

The XET is unobtainable anymore, and I wouldnt want to fry it....

Update.

I got scardt, and turned it down a bit after 2 days at max voltage.
(It never locked up or failed Prime95/UT testing....)

Now it is running stable at 130fsb, 1.675v 35c max load.
Before the 2 day burn it needed 1.75v for 130fsb stable....

I guess 1560mhz is an ok OC

if i remember reading correctly, the cellys and the williamette P4's vcore usually sits around 1.7 to 1.75 w/o overclocking...so i'd say just as long as you dont go above 1.8 you'd be ok. someone feel free to correct me if im wrong. :)

I don't think it could possibly damage anything on your mainboard.
You sure could fry your CPU, which I think wont happen either.

So far so good. Back up to 1608 for 3 days now with only
1.8v temps at 33c idle, 37c load.

you got really nice temps, and the vcore is not yet so high in my opinion for a celly. you know, I am seeing you have another (1.1a). bet you dont need the vcore as high with that one?

Sure dont. The 1.1a wants 1.65 for 134 fsb.
It is at either 1.725 or 1.75 now for the 137/1505.
It has an alphapal 6038 (I think it is) on it.

Got an AX-7 wedged inbetween the caps on the board with
the 1.2 in it. Sunon 4.3w 80mm high output fan.
Cool, but way loud.
