Just curious if these specs are what other people get when playing online. I have all the graphics cranked to the max.

I use AnalogX Net Stat Live and ASUS Probe
If you have never been to www.analogx.com you should check it out. The guy gets regular air time on "The Screen Savers" TV show.

CPU Usage 100% when playing
CPU Temp 40-42C
Inbound 30-40kBps (240-320kbps) I am on cable broadband
Outbound 30-40kBps (240-320kbps)

Motherboard temps are around 25C after playing for a long time.

I have dual monitors set up and I keep the monitering stuff on the top monitor while I am playing the game.

ummm- im not really sure what you mean.
What graphics card?- (thats the real difference)

I think most people can stress their machine with ut2003 (except the financially well endowed with 3.06HT @ 4ghz and ocd 9700 pros and 1024 Mb of pc 3500corsair ram.

Card is a GF4 MX440 DDR running @600 mhz Memory speed and 300mhz core speed.

Ram is 512mb of PC2100
CPU is P4 1.8@ 2.4ghz.

One last thing I forgot to put in the first post. I get an average FPS of 60.

GF4 MX440.

Nuff said. There's your "stress" right there. I bought into one of them too, only to find out that a GF3 Ti 500 will wax it's butt.

Let's put it this way...I'm so fond of it's graphics capabilities, when I got my Ti4200, the MX440 went into my server, where it's running a program from a command prompt.

Frankly, I'm more amazed you can actually get the game to run at all with the graphics maxed out.... I couldn't, with an XP1800+ @ 1702 and a half gig of PC2100 (with the MX440)....

Now hold your horses there partner.

I bought this card because it had all the other features that I needed. VIVO and Dual Headoutput. I guess there is more than one version of the MX440 card. The tests show that the early cards were worse than a GeForce2 and had some slow a$$ speeds to them as well as did not suport the latest Direct X stuff.

I don't know that much about video cards and would love it if someone could explain this version of the card to me. It has DDR ram, I have all of the latest Direct X drivers installed. So far it has not given me a lick of problems on any games (unless this 100% CPU Usage is a problem)

What is the deal with this card, is there some serial number on the card that I can look up to see exactly what it is. I paid 190$ CDN for it, that is about 125$ USD

My other options were

ATI Radeon 9000 Pro 128MB DDR w/DVI, TV out OEM 165$ CDN
ATI Radeon 8500LE 128MB DDR w/DVI, TV out OEM 155$ CDN
AOpen Geforce 4 MX440 SE 64MB DDR AGP 4x 86$ CDN

There were a bunch of other cards in the 100$ range but none of them could do what I needed.

At this point I am not sure what to look at, but this card runs Memory 600mhz and core 300mhz that seems pretty fast compared to the other cards I see running at 200mhz that are in the simialr price range.

I've read a lot of threads like this one, unfortunately, after I got mine.

True, there's more than one version of the MX440. If it's got the features you need, than you got the card you need. IMO, nVidia really could have done better with them. At least mine...

If you dont want to accept the replys you get then dont ask.

My old georce 2 is just as fast as that ge4mx400....

buy a better video card.

That was kinda harsh don't ya think. But if your GeForce 2 runs at these kinda speeds. Congrats.

Now my original post was not regarding the video card alone, it was the entire system and how much it was used. IE your bandwidth, CPU usage and temps. I know that this video card is not a suprem card. But I never claimed it to be, I bought it becuase it suited all my other needs and was the better choice for my options.

I don't know why anyone hasn't told you yet, but when you run a a game, your cpu maxes out. and 40-42C is ok for temps, so I owuldn't be worried.

P.S. You need to go away to the bad place. 60fps with a MX440!!??!?!! I get 40 when running around or 130 when staring at a blank, featureless wall . I've got a MX420 (don't laugh please).

oh yeah, I have everything default in ut2k3...

uh dude, you might want to post a convincing fake...you never applied those changes dude.

Edit: Ran it again and got 7745 this time.

Well I really dont know enough yet to be able to say anything diffrent on it. I tried that 3dmark test last night. It came back with 7224 as a 3D-Mark Score.

It took me for a second to really understand what you were talking about. Well I did some testing and bumped the speed up a bit more. I am not sure why it showed up like that, but I
cranked the speed to this now

I am the first one to say that this card is not a great gaming card, I am simply saying what it will do. I hate being called a liar and that is what is upsetting to me.

Oh the 3d Mark Test page is I really dont understand what most of the results mean. But that is what it spat out for me.

an 8500 or Ti500 which can approach the speeds you have your MX440 at would as Mr.B put it...wax the floor with it
