Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has a Iwill KA266-R setup with a 1.33ghz chip?
If so what do you have it running at? How stable is it, are you happy with it?

I am planning on building one in the next few weeks and need some feedback. Here are the parts I plan on using, would you change anything?

Iwill KA266-R
AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1.33 Ghz
Leadtek WinfastGeforce 2 PRO GTS
Hundai High quality PC2100 (256MB)
2ea Maxor 30GB in RAID 0
Wind tunnel Plus Case
Swiftech MG462-A CPU Cooler
EnerMax 431W Power Supply
A-Open 12X10X32 CD RW

Thanks

I'm using an IWill KA266R with a 1.2G Tbird. I can clock it to 1470 at default voltage. Board is VERY stable and with some tuning gets good memory scores. I am having a problem when using more than 1 stick of RAM though. Currently working with Iwill and Micron on this problem. DOES NOT seem to be a common problem with this board.

Didja jack up the Vmem a wee bit? I have got 2 sticks of Mushkin and I have the Vmem set to 2.6. I can't do over 137Mhz with the memory settins I have though, but my mem scores are quite sufficient, until PC2700 comes out.... ;D Then its going to be FSB all the way!

Just did that today :) running 2 sticks now and have awesome memory scores!!

SiSoft Sandra Memory scores

ALU 597
FPU 796

That's running 1330 Mhz, 512MB Crucial pc2100 at CAS 2.5 at 133 FSB. The new bios released today really helps!

Hey Guys,

Does the Iwill allow you set the multiplier? If so what is yours set at? And what are the different aviable settings?
What voltage are you at?
How does the new bios differ?

Thanks

Skip,

That's good for 133FSB, but how high can you take that memory? My Crucial CAS2 offers

ALU 670
FPU 758

albeit at 158FSB. If the DDR does not go higher than 140 it's still kind of a draw wouldn't you say?

I've got the KA266 raid as well, and I don't know if it's just my AVIA tbird or the board, but it's been running stable for weeks now with just 1.6Vcore! I'm sitting at 1333 (133x10), but that's mainly because of the heat. I crack RC5 24/7, and it's just too hot for my taste at 1400 up, even with water cooling. I'm still working on my evap cooler, but that eats water so dang fast.

Yes, you can adjust the multiplier via jumpers, as well as the Vcore and bus speed in bios. The choices are 100,101,102,103,105,107,110,120,126,133,136,137,140,142, and 146 Mhz.

I think the ALI chipset got an undeserved bad rep due to reviews of the pre-release boards. I'm enjoying the "no dicking around with Via 4-in-1's", the lack of confilicts with sound, etc that I experienced with my KT7. I like this board.

With my 512mb of Crucial ddr (actually, I'm running a combo256mb of pc1600 and 256mb of pc2100 with no problems at all) at 133, ultra, cas 2, I'm getting ALU/FPU of 589/787 with Sandra 2001.
