Has anyone tried the beta bios that is supposed to fix the the 686B southbridge and Sblive conflict. Does it work?

havent yet.what probs did u have?mine had lots but i have sb 128 pci.i have fixed it but may do reinstall if it fixes the problems i had.

I had to disable DMA on my cd and Cdr in the bios and windows to keep the system from freezing and the mouse from making noise. I finally had to remove the Sblive to burn a cd, it would give me a bsod during writing. Pulled out the sblive and didn't have any more problems but no sound either.

I've been using BIOS wz110b for a while now and have had no problems.... I use a SB Live Value 2nd Ed. in PCI slot 4 so until I have some problems I am not going to change it.
