Does compaq use regular ram?

i was curiouse since it is saying all this stuff about compaqs. I then googled the model number and manufacturer and it says a;ll this compatible with xxx compaq on EVERYONE. Is there a reason for this or is a real good deal?

Im sure compaqs use normal memory- Ive used compaq memory in other systems.

I bet its a typo or something.

it might have had a sticker on it saying( replace with compaq # xxxx)

Compaq uses several different type so memory. Kingston and Micron are two that I know of for sure. Although Compaq literally hand picks their memory and will refuse an entire shipment palette if a certain percentage of it doesn't meet their memory ceritifcation requirements.. after they "certify" the memory, they basically re-label it and make it appear as though it's "Compaq" memory.
