Guess Logitech is passing the deals around.
14.99 for an MX300 Optical mouse. Its $29.99 original, w/ $2.00 instant rebate, and $13.00 mail in rebate.
Getting one tomorrow hopefully, cause I was the only one at the lan party that had a mouse with a ball. (I still whooped up on everyone though.)
Besides the extra buttons, do the MX500 and 700 have better response than the 300?

http://www.microcenter.com/ Has them for $16.99 without the MIR's.
I play CS a lot and I found that the MX300 is an excellent mouse. It hasn't skipped once on me :D Used with a funcpad 1030 you will be unstoppable

The Logitech Mx series, from what I've read, uses the same optical system in all three mice. The differences between them;
Mx300 has the older "shape" (similar to the Logitech Optical Scroll).
Mx500 has the newer "shape", with the additional buttons.
Mx 700 has the newer "shape", with the additional buttons, and is wireless.
To the best of my knowledge, the three utilize the same optical system. This link will take you to the "mouse" page at Logitech for more info. (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm?page=products/productlist&CRID=19&countryid=19&languageid=1)
Cheers!

whoa, triple post!
Anyway, about microcenter, I think their deal is over now, but every time I called when the deal was still open, they were out of stock. On 2 separate occasions that I went there, they were all gone. Now the Microcenter store near by me is a huge warehouse, so I'm assuming they had kept a good stock of these things and they just went like hotcakes.
Best Buy had about 6 left after I got there today afterschool. And yes, this thing owns. I like the "old" design. Fits my thin fingers nicely. And it matches my case! Ooooooooo...

Huh? I don't see it?? :D
Yeah...my 'net connection was a bit funky this morning...I sat for a few minutes waiting for that post to send.
Judging by your last post, you got one of the Mx300's. Good for you. I think you'll be happy with that.
Cheers!

I really like my plain Red Logitech optical mouse, but after that link Mr. B gave, I'm not so sure I wanna stick to it.
"Its optical performance is as splashy as its design."
Splashy perfomance? Doesn't sound good...

I was wondering why my mousepad was wet all the time....I figured the poor lil' bugger just had a weak bladder. :p
The mouse works great. If you can find a place that will let you test one out (be it the 300, 500, or 700), try it. I'm very happy with mine.
