I just picked up a GeForce4 Ti 4600 128 meg chip, and I am a very happy camper. I debated over this or the 9700, finally deciding on the Nvidia, why? I heard the drivers for ATI just plain suck. The geforce was cheaper. And because nvidia cards have always treated me well. Just to let anybody in that debate know, the 4600 is a great card.
ATI's drivers dont suck anymore. Whoever told you that is stuck in time about 2 years ago.

Well you are definatly misinformed on the driver situation. People just repeat that nonsense because they hear it or maybe they had issues with their radeon 7500 or something. The current state of the ati drivers is great though. There are frequent releases, as many as I saw coming from nvidia. The quality of the drivers is also excellent.

Very misinformed about the drivers.
I've got both the 9700Pro and the Ti4600 (see sig). Also, I've got a GF3 for backup. I was silly to wait so long to get the 9700pro. I was worried about the drivers like you..... I've had less problems with the Radeon drivers than those of Nvidia! But I'm not knocking your choice- the Ti4600 is a great card. In fact, for 95% of the games out there today, either card works great.
I must say however, that the 9700Pro and the original UT running in OpenGL aren't best friends, but they work it out. All other games rock.

9500 Pro is better ;) Performance wise, and quality of the image wise. Sorry to rain on ur parade, i just dont see y ppl still buy the Ti4600 when its more expensive than a superior product
*edit* And to add to the pot, yes, the drivers are just fine. My 9500 Pro has run flawless since the day i bought it
