Anyone got some really good prices on some relatively low RPM 120mm fans for watercooling? I wanna spend as less as possible. If not then I think I will use those 92mm or whatevr fans for 40 cents from directron.
Thnx.

beware though it seems like it is 38mm thick instead of normal 25.
also it will not plug into a computer as is. you have to wire it up to a molex yourself i imagine cause it says "Three 7" pigtail leads with 3-pin connector (0.1" cntrs)." and the normal fan headers for computer fans dont have pins that are .1" long. nor would you want to plug a fan that monsterous directly into your motherboard anyway. :)

that looks like th ebest so far. Actually pretty good stats. i think imma mod em to run at 7 volts.

yeah i thought so too, about the stats. 38mm is hard to fit in lots of places though. i have 3 of these fans sitting in a box waiting for me to have time to wire them up. :|
www.nexfan.com lots of nifty stuff there.

They don't mean that the pins are 0.1 inches long, but rather that the spacing between them is 0.1", which is correct for a normal 3-pin fan header.

Here's a place to look too;

i need to add:
they nee dto be 120X120X25
on those fans from allelectronics... all you have to do is swap the red and white wires. just pop the little tab things pull them out and switch em. no cutting or any of that.
they move a lot of air, and come with a 120mm grill all for 4 bucks.
although, they are probably too loud for most people at max speed.

i dont think a 38mm thickness will work :(
http://www.svcompucycle.com/120x25mmfans.html
they used to have a better 120 fan for like 6 bucks oh well....
[edit] check the LED fans at the bottom, they come with grill, screws and 3-4pin adaptor...... quite a decent deal. and looks like they are probably quiet enough to go without a 7v or rheo.
i've got 4 of those high velocity ones from allelectronics.com, and they move a TON of air.
BTW, is allelectronics down or something??? I havent been able to get to them all day
have you tried a 7v mod? or any other form of speed limitation? if so could you get a reasonable performance/noise ratio?

I just posted this thread thread (http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=162163)
I see you are looking for 25mm, the ones I got are 38mm, but they worked out to $6.50ea for a set of 4 with shipping (~$26) Don't know how much ya want to spend but I thought it was a pretty good deal.
*Edit* They run just fine on 7V and are almost silent
www.pcmods.com has a sale on the aluminum chrome fans that usually go for $15. only like $8. 78 cfm 32 dba roughly.

I tried to use a baybus to with that monster and it wont even run at 7v :( My solution is using that thermaltake fan controller and running it on medium, not sure how many volts it gives but it works, and stays pretty quiet at the same time.
i was looking for a good place too for fans. i found out that http://www.case-mod.com/store/default.php?cPath=28_29 had the better deal for the fans im looking for over www.svcompucycle.com i picked up 4 red led 80mm fan and 1 120mm fan.

that looks like the best deal so far. Although the cfm is really low compared to others....
that cfm to dba ratio is better than any panaflo fan, and the fan is slimmer, and seriously is the best 120mm fan on the market if noise bothers u
from http://www.pcmods.com/details.asp?prodID=548
Description:
Aluminum Frame Fan
Aluminum cases are now standard equipment for overclocking. These fans will match those cases nicely, with their all aluminum frame that also can act as a heatsink. In addition, these are some of the best performing fans we carry, creating very little noise for the ariflow they generate.
wow that might be misleading, what if someone tried to glue it to thier cpu or something :D

I have one of those. They look really nice and push enough air. Very quiet too.
They don't mount like conventional fans though...I had to use bolts with nuts to mount mine.
Here (http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=149053&highlight=my+first+window) is what I have mounted in my window...old pic but fan is the same :]

Goldmine-elec.com has some decent prices on 120mm Deltas
$5 a peice or $3 in quantity of 10 (http://sales.goldmine-elec.com/prodinfo.asp?prodid=5277)
I believe you will need to wire your own 4-pin molex connectors

question is, are those specs to that aluminum fan accurate or is the company stretching the numbers abit?
accurate. they vary from site to site, but on the manufacturer site, its rated at 78 cfm <30 dba. so thats a plus.
