I'm in the process of maybe going back to intel and someone has offered me an 1.8A and this board will I be able to take this chip to 3Ghz. I would be happy there. I know my ram can take it cause thats only 18x168 i think Heck I could still run full aggresive timings. But need to know if it would be able to handle that. Or if the chipset would crap out on me. THanks Guys.

I just built a system with a p4s8x and it's running perfectly, no quarrels here.

I have been wondering since september
why this board was such an underachiever
and that seems to explain it.
I have a P4S8X running my P4 2.53. I
was -so- disappointed when I started tinkering
around with it. I can get into the low
140s FSB. In fact I had to install the newer
1004 bios which -downgrades- memory performance
just to be able to play games with any reasonable
semblance of stability. Temps are in the 32-35C
range with stock air cooling... I simply could not
believe Asus would rush a project like this, but
apparently they had to hurry and get a Sis648
MB on the market. So, I highly doubt that you could
get that 1.8a to any reasonable speeds with this
board.
