Anyone who plays this game, please share their experiences/suggestions with this. With my fsb oced to 166, my keyboard locks about every other game. :( Backed it off, no lockups.

All of the Unreal series games are known for driving equipment to their limits. If you want to play it reliably, back your timing down.

With that said, how sure of you of your stability at 166 FSB? What have you used (besides UT) to run overnight to see if your machine can really take it at that speed?

Are you locking the rest of the system too? Do you have to shut the comp off with the hold power button in method or the reset button? I would have to think that you are actually just overheating your cpu, because that is what used to happen to me with that game and an OC. Any other game would run all night long, but that game after ten minutes would lock my comp up.

Sounds to me your hardware is not 100% stable. Just back off on your overclock, you may only notice the problem in UT right now, but later you might start having other troubles due to the instability. If you haven't already, you might want to try running Prime95 overnight and see what you get.

Hey, did some more testing after running for a couple weeks with no overclocks.

I put together my new rig about 3 months ago and was able to run at 166 fsb without any consistent problems. Then I started getting this keyboard lock about a month ago. The symptoms of that are my player would not be able to be moved via the kb but I could still fire and move with the mouse and the game would still be running. I would have to manually kill the game and restart. Some of the time I would get a UT error with a bunch of "tick" messages.

Anyway, last night I ghost my system and then crank up the fsb back to 166. Immediately after starting the game I got a blue screen referencing nv4_mini.sys. This happened 3 straight times so I backed it off to 133 again and no problems. I didn't up any voltages so that may be a factor as well. My temps are ok so far.

Next I started overclocking my video card and didn't experience any problems in UT. I'm currently running stably at the speeds in my sig.
