Have you ever dreamed that you wer ein a game you play alittle to much ? I play CS 1.6 way more than i should haha so ill be like walking down the street and watching for snipers haha looking at all the good hiding spot and what not :S, but when i sleep its much worse haha im in the game, *sigh* if graphics were only as realistic as my dreams haha :) "rant"^^^^^^^^^^666
I was playing a UT2k3 map one night that was really strange, it was almost psychedelic and a little rough on the eyes. Right after I played that map I went to bed and dreamt I was running around that map in a deathmatch with my friends...lol....it was crazy!

yeah I do it a bit - but its always very abstract, almost as if its the game but not at the same time...dreams are crazy things
lol last night I dreamt I was using a pc in a swimming baths...what relevance that holds to anything I dont know - some will probably say it means that I dont get out much - but I like to think of it as my filesystem sorting itself out

i don't know if it was game related or because i'm a big fan of the movies but after i saw Starwars Episode1 and played Jedi Outcast i dreamt i was a jedi. that was actually pretty sweet :p

Battlefield 1942. Midway would be pretty fun to be in. The Omaha level in MOHAA would be cool too, but way scary.

I play games at night all the time.. one time after playing Tribes2.. I dreamt I was heavy defense with a mortan attached to my arm... i looked at my arm in my dream, and said wth thats impossible and become aware that i was dreaming. i then woke up :( i was almost lucid in my dream

lucid dreaming is cool concept, although its main draw back is the shock of realising what your experiencing isnt real often wakes you up...and I cant help but be sceptical about the people who say they can control their dreams all the time, as when you sleep your unconcious, yet if your "controlling" your dream then you must have conciousness and musten be asleep
i playd WWIIOLBlitzkrieg 6 7+ hours every night sience its release in 2001 , and i dream im in that game alot.Maybe alittle to much...

Play tetris for a hour or so then go to bed. All you do is lay in bed thinking of those damn little pieces falling from the sky.

None that I can remember, but I have walked into a massive room with lots of detail, and wondered why my FPS didn't just plunge to hell.
Then I come to my senses.
well we DID had a CS in real life where we played with BB guns it was fun :D
but yeah at times unconcsiously (err spell?) i check the area for "camping spots" and "snipers nest" .. i guess i am just playing too much of the damn game :D

Yea I agree. I got a friend who is into all that.. he bought a book that tells you how to make your dreams more lucid, and different techniques of lucid dreaming. Lol.. he also bought a device called 'Nova Dreamer'... you wear it when you sleep and it monitors something.. I think its called rms or rps or something.. anyways it's suppose to increase your odds of lucid dreaming by like 80% or more.
I think the idea is cool, I've tried it a couple times, I have never really been totally lucid in my dreams.. yeah I hear these stories where people can do anything and control everything in their dreams, it's weird.
Have you ever watched Vanilla Sky with Tom Cruise? It's a pretty good movie, and involves lucid dreaming :)

there are all sorts of crazy techniques you can do, one is to constantly tell yourself whats about to happen next is a dream whilst your drifting off...others involve recordings of yourself saying something similar and listening on headphones.
But your dreams become more lucid the more times you go to sleep, if you wake up and drift back off and wake up and drift back up you should notice your dreams will become more vivid - something to do with brain chemistry still in a semi concious state whilst you go back to sleep or something :)
Ill to get out Vanilla Sky and check what you mean ;)

when i was a quake 2 junkie i used to dream of myself as one of them, jumping like mad and fragging like there was no tomorrow.
problem was, i couldnt get to sleep too often.
it was weird.
I can recommend a good doctor.......................
Dont forget the one where you dream you are the final boss to a game. you sit in this little room for hours waiting for the hero to arrive and finally he does. the battle is ferocious but ultimately the hero is defeated. but wait!!! he reloads his game and comes right back, full strength. this repeats several times until it seems as though the hero knows your every move before you make it. could it be that flash in your eyes before you strike?

I've dreamed about car setups in Grand Prix 2.
The REM cineplex is currently featuring dreams about my ongoing case mod.

i read somewhere that if you don't dream after about a month your body becomes exhausted, within a year you would be near death. i don't know how true it is but it sounded beliveable, a bunch of scientests researched it.

HAPPENS ALL THE TIME!!! i thought i was the only one! One night i couldn't fall asleep because in my mind i was playing a giant continuous game of Tetris. I wasn't dreaming, but that's all i could think about! I have an NES emulator on my comp, and deleted all the games 'cept Tetris cause it's the most addicting game ever! hhhmmm...well im done:)
Icarus there are dreams you can remember and yet there are dreams you simply cannot recall, i do remember seemingly long time back when i was playing dune 2 (the game which IMO started RTS) in the middle of night i was thinking about way to beat the harkonen (sp?) army .. got up and started playing .. well i did managed to beat the computer but mum found out and i was grounded for a week :(

yeah some dreams you remember quite vividly whilst your waking up and then 5 minutes later just about remember what happened towards the end.
dreams are just a crazy byproduct of experience from the last week or so? and your brain is sorting through it all - therefore to not dream you would have to sit in a dark room doing nothing not even thinking about anything, and even then you probably would dream of sitting in a dark room :)

You can say what you want but I don't have dreams. When I go to bed, it's like I blink and all of the sudden it's hours later. Call me crazy if you want.

I played EQ for about 18 months and after a couple of late night sessins I would fall asleep and dream I was still in game. Only I couldn't control my character and he would be dying. Then I would start freaking out becasue I didn't want to lose my gear. Really messed my sleep up for those nights. Probably why I don't play anymore.

Again, you do dream, you just do not remember it.
I used to dream about Dune [ the strategy game which warcraft, etc., ripped off]
Soren you are talking about Dune 2 i think, Dune 1 was more or less of a adventure game than a true RTS, IMO dune 2 is the game which started it all :) never the less both were awesome games
